The Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) Specialist Palliative Care service is underpinned by an interdisciplinary approach for the provision to end of life and palliative care for patients with a life limiting illness and support for their carers and families.
MLHD are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Specialist Palliative Care Dietitian who is ready for a new adventure. As a Specialist Palliative Care Dietitian (Level 3), you will be a part of the Specialist Palliative Care team and collaborate with Dietetic teams within MLHD, providing quality services to patients with a life limiting illness in MLHD to meet their health and wellbeing needs.
About the Role:
In this rewarding role, you will provide high-level assessment and therapeutic services to palliative care clients, applying advanced clinical reasoning skills with a high degree of autonomy. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary Palliative Care team and dietitians across the district to embed evidence-based nutrition and dietetics practice in palliative and end of life care.
Other responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Provide clinical supervision to junior dietitians, Allied Health Assistants and students, and contribute actively to MLHD Nutrition and Dietetics and Allied Health networks.
- Maintain accurate documentation within relevant KPIs, NSW Health Directives and professional, legal and ethical standards.
- Lead quality improvement, service evaluation and research activities, while fostering a positive workplace culture and commitment to Aboriginal health outcomes.
About You:
Successful applicants will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics with eligibility for full membership of Dietitians Australia (DA)
- Demonstrate high-level clinical knowledge, skills, and experience within your specialty area
- Proven leadership capabilities including staff supervision, negotiation, and advocacy
- Excellence in communication, education, and training delivery
- Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating quality improvement programs
- Strong time management skills with ability to respond to varying workloads
- Current Class C Driver's Licence
- Vaccination Category A compliance
- National Criminal Record Check and NSW Working with Children Check
