What you'll be doing
As a Visiting Medical Officer – Otolaryngology, you will provide high‑quality, evidence‑based specialist ENT care as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and across MLHD.
Key responsibilities include:
- Comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of ENT conditions in elective and emergency settings
- Inpatient and outpatient management, including clinics, peri‑operative care, and follow‑up
- Participation in the on‑call roster to support timely access to acute ENT services
- Contribution to the development, coordination, and quality improvement of ENT services across the district
- Supervision, education, and support of junior medical staff and multidisciplinary colleagues
- Participation in clinical governance, risk management, and safety initiatives
- Supporting outreach, telehealth, and rural models of care where required

Selection Criteria
- Holds registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Otolaryngology (ENT), and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated significant experience relevant to Otolaryngology (ENT) practice and evidence of competence in skills relevant to Australian rural hospital practice, including trauma and emergency scenarios.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
- Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies
