What you'll be doing
The GP VMO – Emergency provides contemporary, comprehensive medical assessment and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department at Temora Hospital. Responsibilities include:
Delivering high quality acute care, including basic and advanced resuscitation
Managing emergency presentations and coordinating retrievals or referrals as required
Providing inpatient rounding when other local GP VMOs are unavailable
Supporting multidisciplinary teams through supervision, education, and leadership
Ensuring high standards of documentation, communication, and patient centred care
Participating in rostered Emergency Department shifts and on call coverage
Applicants with Rural Generalist skills (GP Obstetrics DRANZCOG Adv; GP Anaesthetics JCCA) are encouraged to apply for relief work opportunities across MLHD.

Where you'll be working
Temora Health Service is a 28 bed facility providing 24 hour Emergency care supported by telehealth capability linking clinicians with specialist networks through the Critical Care Advisory Service. The hospital delivers:
Emergency Department services (24/7)
General medical ward care
Surgical services
Obstetrics and maternity beds
Pathology and radiology services
A broad range of community health services (mental health, community nursing, physiotherapy, domestic violence counselling, transitional aged care, etc.)

- Holds MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner or holds general registration and substantial experience of at least 7 years of working as a senior medical officer in a regional or rural NSW emergency medicine department and meets Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements as a GP.
- Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Competence in performing the range of minor urgent procedures commonly undertaken in a rural emergency department including Advanced Life Support and Trauma management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
- Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
