What you'll be doing
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Psychiatrist to provide specialist psychiatric services across both inpatient and community mental health settings within Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

In this rewarding role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care to adult consumers, supporting assessment, treatment planning, ongoing management and recovery-focused care. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective and patient-centred services while contributing to clinical governance, service improvement and contemporary models of mental health care.

The position offers opportunities to provide clinical leadership, participate in the psychiatry on-call roster, supervise and mentor junior medical staff and registrars, and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. You will also play an important role in quality improvement activities, peer review processes, and maintaining high standards of clinical practice across inpatient and community settings.

  1. Evidence of a Medical qualification that is registrable with the: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Evidence of a Fellowship of RANZCP and proof of recognition as a specialist by the Specialists Recognition Advisory Committee.
  3. Demonstrated evidence of Membership with RANZCP section of CL psychiatry as well as accredited RANZCP supervisor.
  4. Demonstrated significant experience in the field of Psychiatry.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education relevant to area of practice and a willingness to commit to an equitable hospital on-call roster.
  7. Willingness to teach medical students and other staff of the hospital when reasonably requested with demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical quality improvement and peer review, equal employment opportunity and Occupational Health Safety and Rehabilitation.
