Come Work With Us!

The South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Service is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven mental health clinician or suitably experienced individual with a strong background in project management and excellent relationship management skills, to lead and manage the innovative ‘Towards Zero Suicides’ program.

This is an exciting professional development opportunity for an experienced clinician looking to develop their clinical redesign, project management, culture change and stakeholder management capabilities.

The Suicide Prevention Manager leads the successful planning, implementation and scale-up of a range of integrated activities underpinning the Towards Zero Suicides approach to suicide prevention, intervention and postvention for the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

Primarily, this position will work to build the capacity of the Mental Health Service to respond to people experiencing suicidality. Activities delivered in collaboration with the Ministry of Health include: developing suicide care pathways, delivering contemporary clinical suicide prevention training, identifying opportunities for improvement arising from critical incidents, and promoting a "restorative just culture" that prioritises learning and psychological safety of staff.

The position-holder will provide clinical, change and project management expertise and has responsibility for identifying strategic and partnership opportunities, managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders, to ensure Towards Zero Suicides-funded services are closely integrated with existing services and key partner organisations. Central to planning, delivery and evaluation of programs and initiatives will be the meaningful inclusion of people with lived experience.
