In this essential weekend role, you will deliver crisis intervention services in the Medical Assessment Unit, Emergency Department, ICU, and Maternity. You will work independently, using professional judgment to assess and respond to referrals across the hospital.

 

The role involves managing sensitive situations such as end-of-life care, pregnancy losses, and unexpected infant deaths. The successful candidate will also assist with patient flow and prioritise discharge dependent situations, while making appropriate referrals to support services. In addition, you will address child protection and domestic violence cases while offering guidance and support to patients and their families.

 

We are looking for someone with experience, excellent communication skills, the ability to stay composed under pressure, and a commitment to providing compassionate care.

Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500.
