Senior Social Worker
Bathurst Health Service

About the role

Are you a Senior Social Worker looking for your next career move where you can make a real difference? We invite you to consider Bathurst, just 3 hours from Sydney CBD, a prosperous regional city of 45,000 people, rich in heritage, modern infrastructure, a vibrant cultural scene and sports/recreation activities galore.  Bathurst is home to a supportive and welcoming community, living their best life with a great work/life balance and an average house price of $650,000.

We have a supportive and skilled team, developing and growing staff to be their best. Because of subsequent promotions, there is a vacancy for a senior member in the social work team.

You’ll be working across inpatient and outpatient services, with vulnerable people on complex safety and discharge planning, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team and building strong referral pathways to local NGOs.

With the opportunity to rotate across clinical areas such as medical, surgical, rehabilitation, paediatrics, and maternity and special care nursery, you’ll develop a breadth of skills, with the opportunity to specialise available. You will also have the chance to mentor students, supervise fellow social workers and contribute to District-wide initiatives that shape the future of social work in the region.

Extensive access to professional development opportunities apply, including education sessions, conferences and supported study.  You’ll keep your skills sharp, your knowledge current and develop cultural competence to help us improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Our team values a healthy work/life balance, which includes no weekends, no on-call duties and flexible working arrangements, such as a 4-day work week.

This position is a fantastic opportunity for a level two social worker looking to take the next step in their career, or a senior social worker wanting to be an integral part of an expanding service within the $200M Bathurst Hospital redevelopment due to be completed in 2027.

Relocation expenses such as moving and transport costs, temporary accommodation (ie rent while you are looking to buy), utilities connection and costs of sale/purchase of a home (stamp duty, agents fee, legals fees) are able to be salary packaged.  This means for every $1 you spend you will have 30c returned, which really adds up!

Join us to embrace better quality of life, easy access to the city, a career that rocks and more time and space to breath. Apply now!
