About the Opportunity

In this position, you will work within a collaborative, high-performing team to further improve risk management and staff capability across Sydney Local Health District. Working with key colleagues, you will be driving the organisation’s work to increase risk maturity though outstanding governance from our frontline services to the SLHD Board.  

   

You will provide leadership, strategic direction, technical advice and performance monitoring for risk and support the enterprise-wide risk management system in the Sydney Local Health District (SLHD). 

  

Your role will include: 

  • Provision of expertise and advice in risk management for SLHD managers and staff.
  • Enabling District-wide compliance with the requirements of the NSW Health Enterprise-wide Risk Management Policy Directive, delivered through the SLHD Enterprise Wide Risk Management Policy Compliance Procedure, across SLHD facilities and services including the submission of an annual attestation, and assessment against the Australian Commission on Safety Quality in Health Care National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards.
  • Strategic management and reporting of risks and their management to the SLHD Board, Executive and Managers.
  • Maintaining effective process to enable staff to identify and manage risk in accordance with their role and responsibilities, including training and resource development.

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated expertise in risk management principles and practice in a complex operational environment.
  • High level organisational skills with demonstrated achievements in project planning, including an established track record in effectively delivering milestones, the ability to analyse and present complex data and information, and to develop and monitor plans for improvement.
