Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) is a leading provider of health services across Northern Sydney. The district is currently seeking a Revenue Manager to join their Finance team at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) for a 12 month opportunity.

Where you'll be working
Royal North Shore Hospital - Finance Team

What you'll be doing
The Revenue Manager will provide an advisory support service to Royal North Shore Hospital and the Local Health District Finance team in relation to patient fee revenue generation within Public Health Organisations in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and legislation.
Provide accurate and timely revenue performance information, analysis and reports, including maintaining and updating a reporting framework containing key revenue benchmarks and metrics, to all relevant stakeholders, including Ministry of Health, Board, Chief Executive, and members of the LHD Executive. A well supported role, the Revenue Manager will join a broader team of 15 and report directly to the Financial Controller.

Responsibilities will include:

- Build and maintain strategic relationships by liaising, consulting and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders to identify key revenue opportunities and provide effective advice as well as identify and contribute to the development of sustainable revenue improvement strategies and provide support for the RNSH Revenue Committee and other revenue committees as required.
- Support the facility in achieving revenue improvement strategies, including assisting with analysis and assisting managers in the development of comprehensive plans and reports as part of the NSLHD strategic direction.
- Coordinate and implement changes to frontline operational processes in accordance with Ministry of Health or NSLHD requirements, including undertaking review PPO and Clinic processes to identify opportunities for improvements in revenue generation, efficiency and compliance.
- Coordinate and lead the development and/or implementation of various billing and reporting portals initiated by Ministry and NSLHD, including the coordination of workshops and committees to maximise adoption across the RNSH and providing expert advice and guidance with up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures, emerging trends, and in depth analysis.
- Develop and conduct training for Patient Liaison Officers and admissions staff for standardised knowledge and practice across RNSH, including the development of training materials.
- Participate in various Ministry of Health forums and working groups to contribute and represent the interests of RNSH, and to disseminate information to stakeholders.
- Undertake special projects and other tasks as allocated.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

 

  1. Tertiary qualifications in business or health management and/or experience with revenue improvement within a Public Health Organisation, or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
  2. Demonstrated experience with Public Health Sector revenue management processes and requirements including Private Health insurance and its relationship to the Public Health sector, knowledge and understanding of Activity Based Funding and its role in the Public Health sector and Commonwealth rules and regulations in relation to billing in the Public Health sector.
  3. Experience with staff training, education and development, including development of training materials.
  4. Demonstrated experience in project implementation and managing the process of change involving a large number of stakeholders from different disciplines and backgrounds
