This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.

About the role:
This is an excellent opportunity to step up into a Senior role. You will be responsible for providing high quality clinical services and leadership to our team at Tamworth Hospital. If you are an early career Physiotherapist, we would still love to see you apply, with the aim to work towards building your clinical skills and continue to grow as a professional in the acute setting.
As a Physiotherapist you will use critical thinking skills to deliver a high-level clinical Physiotherapy service, including services of a more complex nature. This role will require you to be able to work autonomously as well as contribute to the team and the development of students and junior staff.
You would be working with patients within Tamworth Hospital to improve their movement and function, helping them achieve their goals and return home. You would be working with the wider team of highly skilled professionals to provide comprehensive care. There is also opportunity to be involved in quality projects and help in the education of staff and patients. Everyday is different and there are lots of opportunities to develop both clinical and non-clinical skills.
Where you’ll be working:
The Physiotherapy department at Tamworth Rural Referral hospital is a dynamic and highly competent team, they are eager to welcome and support a new Senior Physiotherapist! The department is committed to providing a high-quality physiotherapy service, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice.
There is a great Physiotherapy network across the New England Northwest, with a wide range of physiotherapists to connect with. Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is a major referral hospital located in the northern region of the HNELHD. It has approximately 270 beds, the Critical Care Services is located in the new state of the art hospital complex and boasts an 8 bed ICU, 6 bed HDU, 8 bed CCU, Rehabilitation Unit, Orthopaedics, Hydrotherapy Pool, Musculoskeletal Outpatients and Fracture Clinic.
About you:
We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
- Experience and passion for delivering high quality Physiotherapy care to inpatients with different presenting conditions
- A problem solver with the ability to analyse issues, set priorities and apply a range of options to develop solutions
- Able to work independently, including with complex presentations
- Passionate about service development and continuous improvement
- Be eager and willing to supervise students and junior staff, sharing your clinical expertise and investing in other’s learning
Requirements:
- Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
- *Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position. All payments made to part time employees will be on a pro-rata basis. Check your eligibility here- Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
