About the Role
Are you passionate about patient care? Join our team at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital Operating Theatres As a Hospital Assistant (Operating Theatres), you will support the perioperative team by assisting in patient transfers, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and ensuring that essential items such as blood and pathology specimens are transported as required. Your role will be essential in upholding best practices in infection control, patient dignity, and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to manual handling protocols when transferring patients.
  • Assist in positioning and prepping patients while ensuring their dignity is maintained.
  • Follow instructions from perioperative staff during theatre procedures.
  • Transport blood, pathology specimens, and other necessary items using standard precautions.
  • Provide general support to nursing staff and all areas within the Perioperative Unit.
  • Work in accordance with organisational policies, ACORN guidelines, and infection control standards.

Our Operating Theatres provide critical care services to Armidale and surrounding areas, serving as a referral centre for smaller facilities within the Tablelands cluster. Our team is committed to excellence in surgical care, medical research, and continuous education to ensure best practices in patient care.
