What you'll be doing
As a Mental Health Clinician the primary purpose of your role will be to Provide person-centred recovery-oriented mental health services. You will implement a whole person and life course approach for individuals with chronic persistent mental illness and complex psychosocial needs in Western Sydney Local Health District. Your role will also be responsible for:
- Conducting mental health triage and comprehensive assessments.
- Delivering psychological and family interventions as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Coordinating ongoing care and discharge planning in collaboration with various stakeholders including inpatient units, police, ambulance, government, and non-government agencies.
- Collaborating with staff, consumers, and external agencies to enhance participation in mental health treatment and recovery.
- Contributing to quality improvement and service delivery projects within WSLHD and non-government organisations.

Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist or Social Worker.
- Registration: Demonstrated full registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist OR for Social Workers, eligibility to be a member of the AASW.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated skills in mental health and discipline specific assessments and interventions and experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness.
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to work within experience working in a team and/or knowledge of the principles that guide service delivery within this model of practice
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and good interpersonal skills.
- Computer competence and literacy including the use of database systems.
- Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia
