What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide high-quality interpreting in a wide range of health care settings, adhering to professional standards and Transforming Your Experience principles.
  • Interpret dialogues within triads and groups, as well as speeches and presentations in formal contexts.
  • Perform sight translations as required.
  • Share cultural insights, when required, to help health care providers better understand the backgrounds and concerns of patients and clients.
  • Deliver services across various models of care—be it face-to-face, via telephone, video platforms, or emerging technologies.
  • Contribute with small, non-complex translations to support communication clarity.
  • Adapt to diverse rosters, including occasional overtime, to meet service demands.
  • Exhibit cultural competency and sensitivity in all interactions to foster inclusivity and understanding.

  1. Current NAATI certification or accreditation at a paraprofessional level as a minimum an relevant qualifications and training and /or relevant work experience.
  2. Outline how you use excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interpret in medical settings. 
  3. Provide examples of how you are able to identify, convey and respond to social and cultural factors in the health care settings. 
  4. Outline how you have demonstrated ability to use initiative and work in a team environment.
  5. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
