An exciting opportunity to join the dynamic Finance Strategy team is available for a Finance Analyst (temporary) and a Finance Business Partner, Strategy (temporary) for 24 months within the Financial and Corporate Services Division in the Ministry of Health.

About the roles

Both roles are within the Finance Strategy team and offer an exciting opportunity to work directly with program areas and stakeholders within the Ministry of Health to guide critical financial decisions and outcomes.
The Finance Analyst (temporary) is responsible for undertaking financial reporting, analysis and forecasting in an Oracle environment to support effective business performance and ongoing forecast processes, and assists the Principal Financial Business Partner with providing business partnering, insights, and other analytical support services.
The Finance Business Partner, Strategy (temporary) is responsible for preparing financial and economic analysis to support the development, implementation and evaluation of policy measures and strategic initiatives, and supports the Principal Financial Analyst with costing, financial and economic evaluation of businesses, and stakeholder engagement.
Both positions are Crown Clerk 7/8 with a starting salary from $110,266 - $122,058 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week. Both positions are temporary for 24 months.

What you'll be doing
As a Finance Analyst, you will be:
- Advising the Principal Finance Business Partner and branches within the Ministry on compliance with financial controls, budget protocols and reporting requirements
- Providing a “Gatekeeping” role for Branches within the iProcurement Oracle environment while ensuring compliance with accounting and policy requirements, including Accounting and Audit Determinations
- Assisting the Principal Finance Business Partner in the preparation and update of performance reporting and monthly forecasting analytical models, and the communication and interpretation of results and recommendations to the various branches within the Ministry
- Assisting the Principal Finance Business Partner with preparation of key financial products and deliverables, including the annual Initial Budget and Service Agreement submissions, internal budget allocations and/or the provision of budget supplementations, and branch submissions for various Treasury budget processes
As a Finance Business Partner, Strategy, you will be:
- Supporting the Principal Financial Analyst and branches within the Ministry with the development and delivery of new policy proposals and measures, including preparation of reliable financial and economic advice regarding costs, economic evaluation, benefits and funding sources
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as part of the annual State Budget process on financial processes, including branches within the Ministry, NSW Treasury and other agencies
- Preparing reliable financial and economic analysis to support executive decision-making on new policy proposals and key strategic initiatives
