About the Role 

Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumer stay well in the community. The team provide specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people. Community mental health services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers and Peer Support Workers. Our main sites are at Canterbury, Croydon, Camperdown, Marrickville, and Redfern Community Health Services. The role will be based at Croydon. 

The Director of Community Mental Health and Partnerships provides strategic and operational leadership across all Community Mental Health services, and ensures the effective governance of all clinical services and partnerships. As part of the Mental Health Executive team, this position ensures high quality, efficient and effective community mental health services.

Ideal Candidate

  • Extensive recent senior management experience, including leading staff and managing services
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in mental health.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively at senior management levels to deliver and improve service outcomes, make complex judgements, meet key performance indicators and benchmarks, manage change, manage risk and community work health and safety issues, and implement quality services within defined resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of complex health systems and contemporary issues across all levels of Government and the Non-Government sector, including mental health service development, governance and planning.
