Dalwood Spilstead Family Counsellor
An opportunity to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team at the Dalwood Spilstead Service based in Seaforth working in tertiary care with vulnerable families and children at risk across Northern Sydney. This role involves the provision of individual counselling, case management and parenting support for a caseload of vulnerable families with young children plus facilitation of parent group programs including Circle of Security and playgroup programs.

What you'll be doing
The position involves collaborative work with a range of disciplines including Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Clinical Psychology Art Therapy, Early Childhood Education, Special Education and paediatric medical officers, as well as some multi-disciplinary group-work. Regular supervision and extensive professional development opportunities are provided.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Degree in Social Work with eligibility for Australian Association of Social Workers membership, OR Degree in Occupational Therapy with AHPRA registration, OR A minimum 3-year degree with a 4th year honours in psychology; or Masters in Psychology or an equivalent qualification with full general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) .
- Extensive experience in child and family work including family assessment.
- Sound knowledge of trauma-informed practice and the needs of vulnerable families.
