This is an opportunity exists for a suitable candidate to join the Pharmacy service at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as a Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician. This role sits under the supervision of the Senior Pharmacist, Investigational Drugs Unit, and is responsible for providing support to all aspects relating to the use of investigational drugs under clinical trial protocols and for compassionate use.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the preparation of products for dispensing, manufacture of aseptic and cytotoxic agents, sponsor invoicing and stock storage and management duties. The position is open to pharmacy technicians up to grade 2 level depending on prior experience. Professional development of staff is encouraged and supported with training for manufacturing skills provided in-house. Royal Prince Alfred Hospital provides a comprehensive range of clinical services to residents of the Sydney Local Health District and has specialised areas of practice in liver, renal and bone marrow transplant, Melanoma therapy, Haematology, Cardiology and Mental Health. The Clinical Trials Pharmacy is one of the largest in the NSW providing the highest-level care for patients through clinical research.

- Has recent relevant work experience in pharmacy.
- Currently holds a Certificate III (or willing to undertake) or Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Pharmacy Support or relevant qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent; competency in dispensing, non-sterile production and ward distribution; and ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations (Technician Grades only).
