The Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is looking for a motivated Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection Counselling Services (CPCS) team at Erina Community Health Centre. This permanent part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment where you will play a key role in supporting children and families who have experienced violence, abuse, and neglect. Your work will be vital in helping to ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children, promoting recovery, and empowering parents and carers to strengthen their ability to provide safe, nurturing care.
As a Senior Social Worker in the CPCS, you will provide casework and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and their families/carers. You will work with a focus on family preservation and restoration, helping children recover from trauma while supporting their parents in strengthening their parenting skills and attachment. You will work in close collaboration with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and other health services to deliver trauma-informed, culturally safe, and recovery-oriented care. Additionally, you will provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff and social work students, ensuring high standards of practice and continuous professional development.
The Senior Social Worker will work closely with their colleagues and leadership within VAN Services and more broadly across the health service to facilitate integrated, trauma informed, culturally safe care that is holistic and seamless. Targeted training and development is provided to support the team to be innovative and evidence based to deliver effective interventions that operationalise the NSW Health Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Framework, Service Standards, Guidelines and relevant Policy and Procedures.
About You
- You have a Degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers and alignment with relevant professional practice standards.
- You have an understanding of Health system/s and responses to Violence Abuse and Neglect of children and young people.
- You have a current Drivers' Licence and willingness to travel within the Central Coast Local Health District as required.
- You have demonstrated experience providing support and interventions to children and/or young people and their families.

This position is based at the Erina Community Health Centre, located on the beautiful Central Coast of New South Wales. The Centre is an integral part of the CCLHD’s integrated Violence, Abuse, and Neglect (VAN) Service, which delivers innovative care across multiple sites in the District. The CPCS team is committed to providing holistic care to vulnerable children and families, and you will be joining a dedicated and supportive team of professionals.
