The Behavioural Escalation Support Team (B.E.S.T) is looking for a Diversional Therapist to join our team!
About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a Senior Diversional Therapy position as a member of B.E.S.T at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
B.E.S.T is an innovative clinical team designed to role model and support clinical staff in the proactive Identification, Escalation and Management of patients at risk of and experiencing Acute Behavioural Disturbance and other behaviour support needs.
The primary purpose of the Diversional Therapist (Level 3) position is to deliver direct patient care and Diversional Therapy treatment plans; to support the care of people whose behaviour impacts their own care and safety and/or the safety of other patients and staff.
The position works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and will be provided formal and structured clinical supervision and support. If you possess the suitable skills and are looking to join an innovative and supportive team, we welcome your application.

Ideal Candidate
- Must hold a Health Science or Applied Science Bachelor's Degree in Leisure, Recreation or Diversional Therapy recognised by the Australian Recreational Therapy Association (ARTA).
- Must have experience as a Level 2 clinician who possesses extensive specialist knowledge in people with Acute Severe Behavioural Disturbances.
- Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve and apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
