Are you passionate about improving the health and well-being of the Aboriginal population whilst supporting the Aboriginal workforce? Come and join our team! This is a fantastic temporary part-time opportunity to expand your skills and obtain valuable experience. 
Provide expert advice and services on all facets of Aboriginal Mental Health to the Aboriginal population accessing Mental Health Services within SESLHD. The role has a specific focus on the provision of a range of health and wellbeing support to Aboriginal Communities to achieve the business and service objectives.
 
The role is responsible for managing a service wide Aboriginal Mental Health Programs, leads strategic and operational delivery of service, and coordinates strong partnerships with the community. The role also manages a dynamic multi-disciplinary team of Aboriginal Mental Health Staff that support inpatient and community services across three service sites (Eastern Suburbs, St George and Sutherland).

SESLHD MHS, Kirk Place, Kogarah. Some travel across SESLHD MHS sites is required.

Selection Criteria: 

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a health or management related field.
  2. Extensive knowledge of contemporary issues in Aboriginal cultures and culturally responsive health service provision with a commitment to improving the health and social outcomes for Aboriginal people in contact within health service.
  3. Demonstrated skills in managing a number of projects concurrently, with varying timeframes and workloads, in a high volume work environment.
  4. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  5. Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation.
  6. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrated experience in planning and evaluation at strategic and service levels.
  8. Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
