Selection Criteria

 

1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers with experience working as a social worker, ideally in a hospital or health setting.
2. Demonstrated interest and commitment to continuing professional development and/or Field Education and developing educator skills and knowledge
3. Excellent verbal and written, communication skills as well as demonstrated competency with using computers particularly skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint or similar programs.
4. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
5. Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence
6. Ability to work as part of an education team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature
7. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff
8. Demonstrated knowledge of theory used and experience of working with people in crisis or emergency situations and an ability to participate in the After-hours Social Work service.
