Join the dynamic Pharmacy Department at Blacktown Hospital, part of the Western Sydney Local Health District. You’ll be embedded within the Blacktown Mental Health Service (BMHS), supporting both inpatient and community teams in a collaborative, patient-centred environment.

What you'll be doing
As a Grade 3 Pharmacist, you’ll deliver expert pharmaceutical care across BMHS, including acute, subacute, PECC, and community mental health teams. You’ll also mentor junior pharmacists and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Provide clinical pharmacy services aligned with SHPA and NSW Health standards
Optimise psychotropic medication use and support safe prescribing practices
Lead education and training for staff and patients on medication safety
Participate in policy development and medication safety committees
Support clozapine management and contribute to innovative pharmacy programs

Essential Requirements:
Qualification: Pharmacy qualifications conferred by Tertiary Education Institutions e.g Bachelor of Pharmacy. Must satisfy Grade 3 classification as per Health Employees Pharmacists (State) Award
Registration: Full and unrestricted Pharmacist Registration with AHPRA
Selection Criteria:
Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Demonstrated extensive clinical knowledge and skills in the provision of pharmacy services, in particular within a MH service. Some levels of understanding on NSW Mental Health Act 2007 is desirable
Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written (includes report writing and presentation), verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of professions and patients/carers
Demonstrated capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effect practice change
Demonstrated organisational, problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise work and manage time to meet deadlines
Demonstrated commitment to professional development, including experience in the development and implementation of quality improvement project
Current motor vehicle driver’s licence and ability and willingness to travel and work across campus WSLHD
Hold a Driving license of Class C vehicle
