Where you'll be working
SESLHD is one of the largest local health districts in Sydney, covering a geographical area of 468 square kilometres from Sydney’s central business district, the beaches from Bondi to Cronulla and down to the Royal National Park. We deliver health care to around 930,000 residents across the local government areas of Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick, Bayside, Georges River and the Sutherland Shire. We also provide a key role in helping residents of Lord Howe Island. Our staff also deliver high quality health care across a variety of community-based services ranging from pre-birth to palliative care.
The Role
South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is committed to improving the care provided to our patients in line with our vision of Working together to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within Occupational Therapy and Disability in order to provide high quality care navigation for people living in the community, consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.
This position is consumer-focused and is responsible for providing high level specialised/technical advice, guidance and support to palliative care Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) regarding National Disability Insurance Scheme Implementation.

Selection Criteria:
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Registration with AHPRA and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in End of Life and Palliative care, with some familiarity with National Disability Insurance Scheme processes.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational level.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice, and development of education tools or programs to support others in providing service excellence.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
- Demonstrated experience in providing advice to managers on clinical service development, practice change and service redesign.
- Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
