About the role

The Senior Finance Analyst supports the Principal Financial Analyst and delivers high-quality financial accounting activities. The role includes preparation of financial statements, review of balance sheet reconciliations, management of fixed assets, and investigation of unusual P&L and balance sheet balances. You will also contribute to one-off and project-based financial accounting initiatives, playing a key role in ensuring accurate and reliable financial reporting.
Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location - 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards

What you'll be doing
- Supporting financial consolidation processes to ensure accurate and timely outcomes
- Performing detailed financial analysis, identifying issues, and delivering practical, value-driven solutions
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, including desktop revaluations, WIP tracking, stocktakes, and reconciliations
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, including investigating unusual balances and movements
- Performing gatekeeping functions for accounting transaction related to professional and consultancy services across the Ministry to ensure accurate coding, financial integrity and compliance with relevant policies and delegation requirements
- Liasing with Audit Office of NSW and provide the required information and support for audit activities and requirements
- Assisting Principal Financial Analyst with Ad-hoc tasks and other supports as required to meet the reporting deadline
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the business
- Communicating financial information clearly and effectively to support informed decision-making
