  1. BSc or BAppSc or equivalent, with MPH or MAE or relevant postgraduate qualification or a relevant doctoral qualification from a recognised tertiary institution; or equivalent degree of other relevant scholarly training; or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  2. Demonstrated highly developed organisational and communication skills, including both written and verbal skills, and ability to work in a team environment
  3. Experience in the use of relevant computer packages including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and EndNote (or equivalent)
  4. Proven ability to undertake and complete research projects in a timely manner and demonstrated ability in scientific writing in English, particularly through a primary responsibility for preparing high quality technical reports for scientific or policy advisory groups, and/or articles for publication in scientific journals
  5. Demonstrated familiarity with the biomedical literature and relevant bibliographic databases (eg Medline, Cochrane Library), with experience in the systematic review process (eg NHMRC or Cochrane reviews) desirable
  6. Demonstrated ability in data analysis using Excel and/or other statistical computer programs such as SPSS, Stata, SAS
  7. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in infectious disease in general and vaccine preventable diseases in particular
  8. Demonstrated understanding of the Australian health services and Australian immunisation programs
