Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing

Delivery of nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary health care team within Western Sydney Local Health District.

Maintains currency of and undertakes nursing practices in accordance with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the National Competency standards for the Registered Nurse/Midwife and related domains.

Essential Criteria:

Vaccination Category: A+ High Risk
Checks: National Police Check and Working With Children Check
Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)


Selection Criteria:

  1. Current enrolment with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as Registered Nurse Division 1.
  2. Proven effective and open communication skills, both written and verbal, that build greater cooperation and confidence in care delivery.
  3. Proven commitment to continuing professional development.
  4. Proven ability to use initiative be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
  5. Demonstrated extensive post graduate experience with recent experience in an acute care setting.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative team environment with a focus on delivering organised and prioritised care, in order to achieve the most effective and efficient outcomes for the patient.
  7. Sound knowledge of quality improvement and infection control practices.
  8. Demonstrate critical thinking abilities, prioritisation and communication skills, whilst effectively following directions.
