Position Summary
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Psychiatry Registrar with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care. The successful applicant omwill be expected to be able to provide effective Mental Health services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in psychiatric practice, in a complex clinical environment.
  • Initiating and completing patient assessment, diagnosis and management, under supervision.
  • Communicating and coordinating with team and family members and carers
  • Completing all discharge summaries within the required timeframe
  • Reviewing patient in the emergency department, inpatient wards, medical wards and community
  • Ensuring all reports and forms required under the government legislation are completed legally and within the required timeframes
  • Ensuring appropriate discharge planning occurs
  • Taking part in research and teaching, continuing education, and orientation as appropriate

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.
