Provisional Fellow General Paediatric Medicine - Metropolitan / Tertiary
Provisional Fellow positions in General Paediatric Medicine are available at the following sites for the 2027 Clinical Year, for up to 12 months, from 01 February 2027 to 6 February 2028:
• Blacktown Mt Druitt Hospitals
• Campbelltown Hospital
• Canberra Hospital
• Gosford Hospital
• Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital
• Liverpool Hospital
• Maitland Hospital
• Northern Beaches Hospital
• Royal North Shore Hospital
• St George Hospital
• Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network - Randwick and Westmead
The positions provide an outstanding opportunity for Advanced Trainees in General Paediatrics to gain further experience in the management and ongoing care of children with acute and chronic conditions. The successful applicants will participate in and support the clinical services and other activities of the Department of General Paediatrics in the management of inpatients as well as outpatients. Positions are accredited for advanced training and would be suitable for a candidate interested in a career in general or subspecialty training.

Selection Criteria:
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as an Advanced Trainee or equivalent.
- At least 6 months experience as an Advanced Trainee in General Paediatrics. Please detail experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
- Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, with a willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.
- Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent time management, problem solving skills, clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
