About the role
We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team at Maitland Hospital. In this role, you will deliver high-quality pharmacy services across both clinical and dispensary settings, contributing to safe, effective, and patient-centred care for a diverse hospital population.
Working closely with fellow pharmacists and the Director of Pharmacy, you will support the delivery of safe, cost-effective, and evidence-based pharmacy services while playing an important role in achieving positive health outcomes for the community. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medication management throughout the patient journey - from admission through to discharge.

Maitland Hospital, located approximately 40 minutes from the Newcastle CBD, is a modern and growing regional hospital providing a broad range of specialised services including emergency care, paediatrics, maternity, mental health, oncology, intensive care, general medicine, orthopaedic surgery, and general surgery.

Requirements:
Proof of eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration agency, Pharmacy. Must be able to demonstrate fulfilment of the criteria for grade 2 pharmacist in accordance with the Health Employees' Pharmacists (State) Award

Additional Information:
To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
