CAMHS is a specialist Mental Health service providing comprehensive assessments, advocacy, therapy and other specialist’s services for children, adolescents, young people and their families who are experiencing emotional, behavioural or social difficulties. We have a family multidisciplinary approach aimed to prevent, identify, treat and reduce the impact of these difficulties on children, adolescents and their families. We provide comprehensive acute/non-acute assessments and treatment for children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioural difficulties. We provide short to medium term therapy, generally with a family focus. Interventions may be individual, family or group within a recovery based model.
The CAMHS Mental Health Clinician is required to deliver outpatient treatment, providing specialist mental health services and tertiary consultation to children and young people in a community setting inclusive of other service partners engaged with families within a CAMHS setting.
If you are an overseas qualified Social Worker, you are required to have your qualifications assessed by the AASW to meet the position criteria.

Role Requirements
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the following criteria in your application:
- Professional qualification in either Social Work (eligible for membership of AASW), Occupational Therapy with current registration with AHPRA. Clinical psychologists require full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or eligibility to progress towards same), along with a minimum two-year full-time APAC-accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in clinical psychology.
- Extensive clinical experience in delivering family-based intervention and therapeutic models by applying early intervention philosophy and principles to infants, children, adolescents (0-18 years) and their families/carers.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
- Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff.
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Advanced skills in conducting acute/non-acute assessments including risk and management.
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills.
- Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position)
