Selection Criteria
- Degree in Health Information Management or other relevant Tertiary Qualifications in health and/or management or a combination of relevant work experience and study
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and management of clinical information systems, records management systems, clinical coding services, human resources and financial budgets.
- Sound understanding of current issues in Information Technology within the health setting, including knowledge of the clinical requirements for Information Systems and associated challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex human resources and exercise performance management, motivate staff and build a cohesive team
- Demonstrated competency in project management, strategic planning and implementation, including the ability to initiate, develop and sustain a change process at an organisational and departmental level
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical & policy development skills, effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to produce executive documents
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and processes
- Membership or eligibility for membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA)
