About the Role

The primary purpose of the Domestic & Family Violence (DFV) Navigator role will be to develop and deliver formal and informal educational and programmatic expertise, advanced clinical and strategic leadership in the establishment and implementation pathways between Primary Care Providers (PCP) and related domestic family violence (DFV), sexual violence (SV) and child sexual abuse (CSA) sectors in order to facilitate more streamlined, timely and comprehensive responses to PCP patients.

Ideal Candidate

  • Social Worker Level 5: must hold as a minimum a bachelor’s degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, and previous employment at a Level 4 or higher (or equivalent). 
  • Senior Clinical Psychologist: Registered psychologist with AHPRA with post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD) and Area of Practice Endorsement (AoPE) in Clinical Psychology. 
  • Being female is recognised as a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under section 31(2h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997 and current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable). 
  • Skills, knowledge and clinical experience in trauma informed care of clients who have/are experiencing DFSV (or similar), in particular, First Nations Peoples, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, people with diverse sexual identities and/or people with varied ability.
