- Enhance the quality of life for patients living with Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD)
- Design and deliver innovative, person-centred therapy programs that create real impact
- Collaborate with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to improve care experiences
- Lead initiatives to address unmet patient needs through evidence-based diversional therapy
- Supervise and support an Allied Health Assistant to ensure high-quality therapy delivery

- Experience working with aged care patients, particularly those living with BPSD
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Motivated, proactive, and driven to deliver high-quality therapy outcomes
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to changing patient needs
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to supervise and support staff and/or students
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Recognised Degree in Diversional Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, which provides eligibility for membership with the Diversional Therapy Association of Australia National Council. Please attach a copy of your degree with your application
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of evidence based practice Diversional Therapy programs/ activities in Aged Care
- Demonstrated experience in the supervision of staff and/or students.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated understanding of therapeutic interpersonal skills
Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education
