This is an exciting opportunity for a Level 1/2 Dietitian to join the Concord Centre for STRONG Medicine at Concord hospital!

    

About the Role

The Concord Centre for STRONG Medicine (Strength, Training, Rehabilitation and Outreach Needs in Geriatric Medicine) has a strong focus on preventative health and aims to provide management and treatment of chronic disease and frailty in older adults, to restore functional ability, independence and improve quality of life.

 

This position will work within the multidisciplinary team providing high quality dietetic services to aged care patients with chronic diseases and/or frailty. This includes the provision of nutrition assessment, nutrition support and education in an outpatient setting and active involvement in quality assurance and service development activities within the service.

In this role you will provide high quality Dietetic service to patients/clients and carers in order to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for the patients/clients of the service. This will include providing nutrition care, education, counselling and nutrition support to inpatients and/or outpatients in a clinical area. Exercise professional judgement in line with years of experience is actively involved in quality assurance and service development activities within the department. Level 2 staff may be involved in clinical supervision of more junior staff and students.

Ideal Candidate

  • Must hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and clinical experience in Nutrition and Dietetic practice and the provision of services to dietetics, in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse problems, set priorities and apply a range of options to develop solutions.
  • Previous experience in student supervision.
