Salary:  $131,870.90 - $134,500.70 + super.

About the role

• Providing expert clinical advice and consultancy to patients, carers and other health care professionals within the Alcohol and Drug Service.

• Part of the Hospital Drug and Alcohol Consultation Liaison (HDA-CL) team; providing care for the Psychiatric Alcohol and Non-Prescription Drug Assessment (PANDA) Unit; Emergency Department and the hospital more widely as part of a general consultation liaison.

• Providing expert clinical telephone advice to health care professionals statewide who are contacting the Drug and Alcohol Specialist Advisory Service (DASAS).

• Identifying deteriorating patients, providing appropriate care and escalating appropriately.

• Initiate, develop and implement initiatives and projects which improve quality of service provided.

• Conduct training of staff in clinical topics relevant to the model of care.

About you

• Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.

• 5 years (minimum) full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field.

• Approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she/they are appointed or such other qualifications/experience deemed appropriate by St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney.

• Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse.

• Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
