Clinical Midwife Specialist (Grade 2)-Aboriginal Maternal Infant Health Services (Narellan Community Healh Centre)-Perm F/T

1. Demonstrated experience and clinical midwifery skills with the ability to work independently to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
2. Demonstrated ability to apply advanced clinical expertise and evidenced based practice to midwifery care making decisions that support positive outcomes for women and their children.
3. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
4. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
5. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidence based midwifery care
6. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
7. Understanding of community development and health promotion programs within an Aboriginal community setting and demonstrated experience in collaboration across services, disciplines and agencies.
8. Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and current issues in Aboriginal Health, specifically relating to pregnancy, childbirth and infant health with experience and an ability to work with Aboriginal Health Workers and Aboriginal people within a community setting.
