Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) has an exciting opportunity for a Gardener to provide day to day delivery of Gardening/Grounds Maintenance services at Wyong Hospital and across Central Coast Local Health District.

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager Wyong and Head Gardener you will undertake planting and maintenance of flowers, trees, shrubs, lawns and garden beds across Central Coast Local Health District. This encompasses working with a small team of Trade staff and liaising with other staff.
This position plays a key role in delivery of ethical and cost effective gardening services in a timely manner. In this role you will:
Carry out ongoing maintenance of gardens, lawns, trees, shrubs and edges, ordering replacement components to ensure minimum disruptions to patient care in accordance with relevant standards and legislative requirements.
Assist in the development of maintenance schedules for grounds, develop ideas, courses of action, garden maintenance and provide advice to the Head Gardener.
Daily utilisation of equipment such as mowers, blowers, snippers, hedgers, and related tools safety in line with Safe Work Methods.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks for upkeep of Hospital and Community Health Service Centres according to Gardener’s skills and competence.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
Knowledge of and experience in plant, shrub and tree identification and maintenance of same in a large commercial organisation.
Experience in installing and maintaining external and internal gardens across varied sites within a large organisation.
Sound written and verbal communication skills.
Current valid Australian Driver’s Licence and a current Occupational Health and Safety General Induction for Construction in NSW Certificate or willingness to obtain within three months of appointment.
Fitness and strength consistent with the requirements of a physically demanding role.
