Ryde Hospital and local community.
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.

What you'll be doing
Community Aged Care & Rehabilitation Service (CAReS) at Ryde Hospital functions to provide a model of care of comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment and co-ordinated care to ensure that patients with age and rehabilitation related conditions and chronic and complex comorbidities are treated and maintained at their optimal level of function to ensure independence in the community. 
CAReS operates a number of groups and programs. These programs help promote health and wellbeing and maximise levels of functional ability and independence of older people and carers living in their community. 
The Multidisciplinary Allied Health Assistant (AHA) will provide transport, clinical and administrative support to Allied Health Professional (AHP) staff to facilitate the provision of high quality clinical care, and co-ordinate and lead small group programs in conjunction with and under the direction and collaboration of the CAReS Multidisciplinary Team. 
Additionally the AHA will provide safe transportation of frail aged clients between their homes and CAReS. 
 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria.

 

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the role of an Allied Health Assistant within a large organisation. Ability to work independently under the delegation of an AHP and the ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.
  2. A minimum of a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or willingness to undertake this training or other qualification deemed equivalent by NSLHD.
  3. Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
  4. Identify skills and knowledge in the provision of assistant's activities to provide support for, AHPs, clients, families and carers as required.
  5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising AHP.
  6. Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Currently hold a Class C Drivers Licence
