The Role

There is an exciting opportunity to join our Safeguards Team in Adolescent Forensic Mental Health: a highly skilled multidisciplinary team that will provide mental health and discipline-specific assessment, intervention and care coordination to young people and their families in the community with complex mental health needs who are in contact with the criminal justice system. 

 

To provide a responsive community based assessment and intervention service for young people with complex mental health needs in contact with the criminal justice system and their families. Providing mental health assessment, intervention and care coordination by incorporating discipline specific recommendations to the identification and formulation for young people and their families who are experiencing crisis or mental health complexity. 
  
The Safeguard Service team which is community based and will provide rapid, mobile, intensive and flexible short term delivery of skilled evidence based interventions to improve outcomes for young people in contact with the criminal justice system.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Allied Health Staff (OT3; SW3) - Bachelor of Occupational Therapy registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or relevant qualification in Social Work with eligibility for membership to Australian Association of Social Workers. To be appointed as a Level 3 Health Professional, evidence must be provided of three years' clinical experience and demonstrated experience of extensive specialist knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within the discipline as defined by the award definitions of a Level 3 practitioner.
  • Nursing Staff (CNS2) - Qualified as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with post-registration qualifications relevant to the position, with a minimum of at least 3 years' full time equivalent experience in the management of clients with mental health conditions.
  • Valid unrestricted Driver Licence for use in NSW and Australia.
  • Valid NSW Employee Working With Children Check.
  • Responsibilities under WHS - Non-Supervisor: You must take all reasonable care for yourself and others and comply with any reasonable instruction, policies and procedures relating to work health, safety and wellbeing.
  • May require extended hours during the week and on weekend. May be required to travel to regional NSW sites to provide in-reach.
