The Clinical/Forensic Psychologist TRC is primarily responsible for delivering specialist forensic mental health care, which considers peoples' clinical, psychosocial, behavioural, and risk vulnerabilities while applying best practice clinical tools. The psychologist will provide specialist clinical assessments, case formulation, and psychological interventions to people presenting with problem behaviours. Interventions will be provided individually, in groups, and via virtual / telehealth as needed. The Clinical/Forensic Psychologist will work collaboratively within the TRC multi-disciplinary team, with Local Health District (LHD) treating teams and other key stakeholders to optimise patient treatment and recovery and build capacity to manage problem behaviours.

• Endorsement in Clinical or Forensic Psychology.

• Demonstrated significant experience in forensic mental health practice, specifically risk assessment, clinical risk management, and psychological treatment of problematic behaviours.

Our service and location:

The Treatment and Rehabilitation Clinic (TRC) is one of three services within the NSW Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS). The TRC adopts a multi-disciplinary, collaborative model of care focused on recovery, rehabilitation, and community safety. It provides evidence-based biopsychosocial treatment and rehabilitation services to support people in achieving recovery from complex disorders that result in problematic behaviours including offending.

The TRC is a community-based clinic but will also provide initial prison in-reach services to support future clinic patients, to optimise safety and treatment success. The initial focus of the service will be the provision of evidence-based assessment and treatment for problem sexual behaviours. In the longer term, the clinic will also focus on other problem behaviours.
