The Director Financial Accounting provides high level professional advice, expertise and leadership in relation to financial accounting issues, including the preparation of consolidated statutory reports and review of financial policies and procedures, to meet statutory and reporting requirements and leads the planning, management, control and integrity of recurrent financial reporting to NSW Treasury.
This is an ongoing, full time, Band 1, Public Service Senior Executive (PSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $225,628 to $250,574 per annum, with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in accountancy, economics, commerce, finance or a related discipline and membership of a recognised Australian accounting body.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, provisions of the Government Sector Finance Act 2018, the Financial Reporting Code for NSW General Government Sector Entities, Treasurer’s Directions, and other statutory and central agency requirements and relevant legislation
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge in relation to the financial management, accounting requirements and funding arrangements for large, complex distributed systems such as NSW Health
- Extensive experience in managing the preparation of financial statements; intercompany eliminations, managing the financial accounting cash flows and reporting functions; and developing and implementing financial policies and procedures in a large, complex and diverse environment
