The SWSLHD Aboriginal Traineeship Program offers you as a trainee:
- A 12-month temporary paid work placement with salary above traditional trainee salaries
- Opportunity to complete a nationally recognised qualification while being paid.
- Culturally safe structured mentoring and support over the duration of the traineeship
- Transition to ongoing permanent position on successfully completing the traineeship.

To be eligible to apply:
- You must be 16 years of age or older, there is no upper age limit.
- No prior experience in health care required
- You cannot apply for a Traineeship in a Certificate that you have already completed

Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage, identify as an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander and be accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
