The Senior Systems Development Officer is a position within the Information Management and Policy stream of InforMH. This stream provides a comprehensive infrastructure support function including database development, automated reporting, and data visualisation platforms. As a senior member of the team, you will be in a position to utilise your existing analytical and development skills while building on your expertise in existing and new technologies to improve the delivery of services across all teams in InforMH.

 

Health Manager level 3, starting salary from $127,150 – $144,444 plus Super, with a 38 hour work week.

 

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Use technical skills to design, build and support Microsoft SQL Server databases and systems to meet business needs.
  • Provide reporting expertise from a technical perspective and provide ad-hoc reporting or data extracts from selected data collections as required.
  • Provide support for InforMH information resources, investigating and problem-solving issues, and effectively liaising with eHealth and vendors as required.
  • Manage the administrative processes of a number of databases and systems used within InforMH.
  • Support other technical staff in the building, management and maintenance of data environments and systems.

 

About you:

 

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

 

  • Demonstrated experience in developing reports using a variety of tools such as MS SQL and Power BI to meet business requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing data with respect to data integrity, and demonstrated analytical, diagnostic and technical skills to support data quality and compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience developing applications using contemporary software languages and tools.
  • Experience in web development including ASP.NET, C#, Python (Django) and JavaScript would be an advantage.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated, equivalent, relevant industry experience.
