Records Officer 

Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (up to May 2026)
Remuneration: Health Manager Level 1, $87,813- $116,824, plus Superannuation, with a 38-hour work week
Location: 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards NSW

About the role:
The Records Officer is responsible for providing ongoing support, advice, training and assistance to the NSW Ministry of Health and customers regarding records management processes, policies and procedures while ensuring an efficient and effective service in accordance with Government legislative and policy requirements.

What you’ll be doing

  1. Provide timely customer support, advice and assistance with the development, implementation and maintenance of compliant records management processes and systems, providing ongoing support and training, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  2. Maintain access to users and create user account for new staff in systems and manage locations list, Convene user list and committee membership, ensuring its currency and accuracy; conduct audits for account reconciliation.
  3. Arrange the disposal of NSW Ministry of Health records ensuring compliance with relevant statutory requirements and procedures.
  4. Process closed files for archival submission to NSW Government Records Repository and manage the retrieval of all requested files on behalf of NSW Ministry of Health.
  5. Process access requests for records from closed psychiatric facilities that are controlled by the NSW Ministry of Health and subpoena served on the NSW Ministry of Health and coordinate response 


About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with providing support, advice and assistance regarding records management processes, policies and procedures.

  1. Demonstrated experience in corporate records and information management in a large and complex/diverse service industry organisation, including relevant qualifications or equivalent.
  2. Sound problem-solving and organisational skills including ability to analyse and interpret information, use strong written communication to prepare correspondence/reports
  3. Proven engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to build, maintain and use relationships with customers and stakeholders
  4. Sound computer skills including MS Office, EDMS (such as, but limited to Content Manager) and online databases
