The Lead Quality Assurance Specialist t is responsible for managing testing from strategy through to execution including evaluation and improving the testing process to ensure enterprise solutions for NSW Health are ready for Production deployment.
The Lead Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for reviewing business requirements, functional design specifications, developing and executing test cases, writing SQL to interrogate large and complex datasets where test case automation will be an advantage.
Health Manager level 4, starting salary from $141,974 - $169,151 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38 hour work week.
What you will do
- Develop testing strategies outlining the overall approach to testing.
- Design, develop, lead, and execute detailed test plans and test cases based on established application requirements (including but not limited to integration, functional, data pipeline, basic backend, performance, and device test).
- Managing testing resources by assigning tasks, setting priorities and monitoring progress.
- Document issues, defects and inconsistencies in a ticketing system and ensure they are appropriately resolved in a timely manner.
- Develop, maintain, comply, and monitor quality assurance governance and framework.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Experience (>= 2 years) with leading test releases and perform advanced data analysis by developing test strategy, test plan, executing test cases and analysing large relational/object-oriented databases.
- Experience (> 2 years) with writing SQL test script to evaluate data integration , ingestion and curation from external data source including flat file, API, and HL7/FHIR.
- Experience (>= 2 years) testing complex operational systems which consume large amounts of data with a preference for clinical and billing data.
- Experience (>= 2 years) working within a large, complex health provider organisation with numerous stakeholders to engage ranging from data analysts, IT staff, clinicians and Executives.
- Relevant educational background including a Bachelor degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Clinical degree or equivalent

- You are tasked with writing SQL test scripts to evaluate data integration from multiple external sources, including flat files, APIs, and HL7/FHIR. Explain your approach to developing these scripts and how you would ensure the integrity and consistency of the data throughout the testing process.
