About the role

The Data Manager/Snr Analyst Programmer is responsible for delivering high-quality probabilistically linked data to CHeReL’s key NSW Ministry of Health (MoH) key clients in a sustainable, efficient, and timely manner. The incumbent will also drive improvements in data linkage systems and processes and provide ongoing project support.
Health Manager level 3, starting salary from $127,150 - $144,444 plus Super, with a 38-hour work week.
What you will do
- Perform Data Linkage Activities: Link data and deliver results within agreed requirements and timeframes.
- Ensure Quality Control: Assure linked results are of a high level of quality. Play a pivotal role in the design, build of quality control processes and metrics specific to data linkages for quality assurance, reporting and monitoring purpose.
- Maintain Data Security and Compliance: Undertake safe and secure use and exchange of data within internal teams and authorized external organizations.
- Manage Data Retention and Deletion: Actively oversee data retention and deletion processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Manage project work: Manage project specific clerical review work you assign to Record Linkage Officers to ensure timely delivery of projects.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with demonstrated experience in working with data across various industries such as health, retail, and government.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, active listening, interpersonal and supervision abilities. Capable of effectively communicating with both technical and non- technical personnel within and outside our business unit.
- Ability in using modern data management systems and software tools, including programming using hand-coded SQL scripting (preferably Snowflake Cloud and Microsoft SQL Server) and other programming/scripting tools like Python/R.
- High-level conceptual, evaluation, and analytical thinking skills. Capable of defining problems, analyzing requirements, understanding population health information, and finding, addressing, and managing data quality issues.
- Strong organizational skills for managing competing issues and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
