Step into a rewarding role with the Whole Family Team, where you’ll have the opportunity to build or deepen your expertise in working with children, adolescents, and their families. As part of a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team, you’ll deliver trauma-informed interventions that address mental health concerns, child protection issues, and alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges. This position is based in the Manning region, preferably Taree, though this is negotiable. It’s a unique opportunity to work with families referred by the Department of Communities and Justice and/or the CAMHS service. In this role, you'll deliver clinical interventions primarily within the family home, allowing you to build meaningful connections and create lasting impact. With some travel involved, you’ll enjoy a varied and engaging work environment as you provide essential support to children, young people, and their families.
As part of our supportive team, you will be directly line managed by the CAMHS CCI, Special Programs and Partnership Manager. You will also receive guidance from the Whole Family Team Clinical Leader and experienced psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and C&A Psychiatrists. Additionally, you'll benefit from regular clinical supervision and access to continuous training and educational programs, all designed to enhance your professional development and ensure your success in this role.
About you:
We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate mental health clinician with experience supporting children, adolescents, and their families. You bring a strong understanding of trauma and its effects on young people, along with the skills to deliver sensitive, effective interventions. Confident in managing and de-escalating crises, you provide calm, responsive support during difficult times, helping families feel heard, supported, and safe.
Requirements:
- Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Clin Psychology/clin psych in training, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program), Nutrition and Dietetics which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the service.
- Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
