About the role:
You will assist in the provision of sterile supply of instruments and equipment to Theatre, Wards, Allied Health Departments and external agencies. As an enthusiastic member of our Central Sterile Services Department team, you will be essential in providing high-quality service to theatres, the Day Procedure Centre, and other clinical areas.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Cleaning of instrument with visible blood/body matter post procedure in the wash up areas of the operating theatre.
- Ensuring the sterile stock room equipment is rotated
- Cleaning of wash up areas
- Unpacking and packing of stores
- Assisting with ordering stores
- Collection, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilisation, and delivery of all Reusable Medical Devices
- Compliance with current AS/NZ standard 4187 and GENCA Infection Control Guidelines
- Operate associated equipment safely to ensure the quality of reprocessed RMDs
- Providing quality processed RMDs on time
- Compliance with hospital and CSSD policies and work instructions to provide a sustained high level of service
- Working safely and harmoniously with the rest of the hospital team

About you:
We are looking for someone with:
- The ability to work independently
- Previous experience in a hospital environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of infection control requirements including standard AS/NZ 4187
- The ability to work efficiently as part of a high performing team
- High attention to detail
- Demonstrated knowledge of waste management principles
- The ability to work autonomously, as well as being a team player
Requirements:
- Currently undertaking Certificate III in Sterilisation or willingness to obtain within 12 months
Additional Information:
- To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
