Fixed term temporary part time (0.5 FTE for 6 months)
John Hunter Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced consultant in Paediatric Palliative Medicine to provide specialist clinical care of patients and families referred to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital Paediatric Palliative Care Service (JHCH PPCS).
The successful applicant will actively participate in the interdisciplinary care provided by the JHCH PPCS interdisciplinary team across HNELHD and the Child Health Network Northern via telehealth and home visiting. You will provide after hours support for patients and families referred to the JHCH PPCS and participate in the state-wide on call service for health care professionals requiring paediatric palliative care advice.
Eligibility criteria:
Senior Medical Officer with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA and Fellowship in a specialty/subspecialty area of relevance to Paediatric Palliative Medicine (including but not limited to Palliative Medicine (Adult), Paediatric Oncology/Haematology, Paediatric Intensive Care) – an appointee who is not a specialist in Paediatric Palliative Medicine will work under the supervision of the Staff Specialist within the JHCH PPCS
Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidence d by recent practice experience working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team
