Staff Specialist in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Newcastle NSW
Permanent Part-Time 0.6FTE Opportunity 

Hunter New England Mental Health Service has a fantastic opportunity (both Community and in-patient) to join their Community Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service team based in Newcastle NSW.

Applicants must have:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
  • Advanced Training Certificate or equivalent experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry


About the role:

The primary objective of this role is to provide high-quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in acute child and adolescent psychiatry, while also handling administrative duties as needed. The Psychiatrist will take into account psychotropic medication, physical health aspects, and legal frameworks in assessments and care provision, ensuring a holistic approach tailored to each individual. The Staff Specialist will maintain a high standard of professional performance and promote an academic environment that supports education, research, and professional development.
